Suicide Statistics

June 7, 2018:

According to the CDC, which conducted a survey on 6/7/18, suicide rates increased by 25% across the USA over nearly two decades ending in 2016.  Twenty-five states experienced a rise in suicides by more than 30%.  Source:

According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US.

Each year, 44,965 Americans die by suicide.

For every suicide, 25 attempt. -- 1,124,125 annually.

Suicide costs the US $69 billion annually.
