Happy Memorial Day!

Every year on Memorial Day we take time to remember those men and women in the armed forces who died while defending our country.  I'm so grateful for their sacrifice.  We live in the greatest country in the history of the world.  And we must not take it for granted.  The best way to honor their memory is not merely by sleeping late and watching a fireworks display, but by doing our part to defend freedom in our generation.  Let us take to heart the timeless words of President Ronald Reagan.  "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."  Today there are enemies, both foreign and domestic, who are fighting fiercely against freedom -- against the freedom of the unborn, the freedom of religion, the freedom to bear arms, the freedom of states hold to the traditional definition of marriage, the freedom of parents to raise and educate their children, the freedom of business owners to run their businesses according their morals and religious beliefs, etc.  And unless our generation steps up to the plate and does whatever it takes to defend freedom and secure it for the next generation, our freedoms will be lost.  It's time for Christians to stand up; to speak up; to get our hands dirty.  It's time to take our country back.  Let us thank God for our country, and for the sacrifice of our nation's fallen heroes.  And may God bless the USA!
