In Her Own Words :: Big Gay's Hatred Toward Barronelle Stutzman
Please take the time to read Barronelle Stutzman's story in the Washington Post about how she is in danger of losing her business and everything she owns and might even face prison because of her deeply held moral and religious beliefs about marriage.
Note that this woman has displayed years of love and acceptance and tolerance toward homosexuals. But as a Christian, she cannot participate in a gay wedding because a gay wedding is a violation of God's law. This is not about hatred toward gays. This is about the freedom one should have to live your life and run your business according to your moral and religious beliefs. In other words, the government should not be able to force or coerce someone to do something that believe is morally or spiritually evil.
You decide what is worse: A business owner refusing to provide a service for moral and spiritual reasons, thereby offending and inconveniencing some people. Or, the government forcing people to violate their spiritual and moral convictions, and severely punishing them if they refuse.
Discrimination in the name of non-discrimination is hypocrisy. Forcing people to sin, and punishing people for righteousness is evil.
