Lafayette Parish Desperately Needs Christ

The population of Lafayette Parish is roughly at 221,578.  There are only 20 Southern Baptist Churches.  That's a population to church ratio of 1/11,079.  In other words, there is one SBC church for every 11,079 people.  This means that Lafayette Parish is currently the most unreached parish in the state of Louisiana.

SBC churches aren't the only good churches in existence.  But whenever I have to help a church member who is moving away to find a new church, I will point them to an SBC church.  These churches are typically the most Biblical and the healthiest.

What does all this mean?  We need to get to work.  There are multitudes of people all around us who need Jesus Christ, or they will spend eternity in hell.  And eternity is a very long time.  The need us urgent.  Our calling is important.  We must go and make disciples of all the nations, but let's do whatever is necessary to reach our own back yard.

Please be in prayer for our upcoming Easter Outreach.  Easter is the Sunday that unchurched people are most likely to attend church.  We are sending out a 30,000 piece mailer to all of our neighbors in South Lafayette Parish.  Our prayer is that people would come to church on Easter Sunday, get saved, and plug in to the church so that we can help them grow to full devotion.
