Abortion and the Ten Commandments

Most Christians know that abortion is murder.  But abortion breaks all, not just one of the Ten Commandments.  

One:  Do not have other gods besides me (Ex 20:3).  Abortion is self-worship.  It is putting your own will before God's.

Two:  Do not make an idol for yourself (Ex 20:4).  Abortion supporters imagine a god who condones and blesses abortion, and they worship him.  This is an idol.  The true God has revealed Himself clearly in Scripture as the God who values life and hates murder.  

Three:  Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God (Ex 20:7).  Abortion supporters misuse God's name when they claim that God condones it.  Some even claim that abortion providers are doing God's work.  

Four:  Remember the Sabbath day (Ex 20:8).  One application of this command is to put God in charge of your finances.  Abortion is often the result of the love of money.  Abortion providers profit off of abortion.  And those seeking abortion often do so for financial reasons. 

Five:  Honor your father and your mother (Ex 20:12).  This is the command to honor your parents, and to be an honorable parent.  Abortion dishonors our Heavenly Father; and it is the most dishonorable thing a parent can do to their child.  

Six:  Do not murder (Ex 20:13).  Abortion is the willful killing of an innocent human being.  It is infanticide.  Child-sacrifice.

Seven:  Do not commit adultery (Ex 20:14).  Abortion is often the result of sexual sin leading to an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy.  Abortion is spiritual unfaithfulness to God.  It is an affair with murder.  

Eight:  Do not steal (Ex 20:15).  Abortion is robbing an unborn child of her life.  It is robbing God of his child.  It is robbing yourself of the blessings of parenthood.  

Nine:  Do not give false testimony against your neighbor (Ex 20:16).  Abortion is promoted and justified with lies -- the unborn are not human; the unborn feel no pain; abortion is a women's health issue; abortion has no victims; abortion is harmless to the mother.  

Ten:  Do not covet your neighbor's house (Ex 20:17).  Covetousness is wrong desire.  Abortion is always the result of a wrong desire -- the mother does not want to be a mother; the father does not want to support a child; the abortionist wants to profit off of murder.  

This month marks the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade (1/22/73).  So far more than 60 million unborn children have been murdered in the United States since that day.  God have mercy!
