The Difference Between Christianity and Other Religions
What is the difference between Christianity and the other world religions? The difference is between Do vs. Done.
All other world religions have something in common. They are about what a person must "Do" in order to win God's favor and earn a place in heaven. If you are good enough, then you will inherit eternal life. It's about following the right rules; practicing the right rituals; avoiding the obvious sins.
Christianity is not about what you must "Do" but what Christ has "Done." It is about trusting in what Christ has done for you, not what you must do for God. It is about faith, not works. Faith in Christ, not faith in yourself. Christianity is about admitting your sinfulness, your utter inability to save yourself, your unworthiness, your need for a Savior. And then it is about clinging to Christ and His atoning sacrifice for the forgiveness of your sins. All other religions are about your performance; Christianity is about trusting in Christ's performance on our behalf.
Sadly, there are many people who think they are Christians but are mistaken. They believe in Jesus, but their faith is not in Jesus. They believe in Jesus, but they are relying on their own performance for eternal life.
How can you tell if your faith is in Christ or in good works? With a simple question. It is the most important question of all. "Why should God let you into heaven?" Those who trust in good works will tell you all about their performance, their effort, their good deeds, their religiosity. But those who trust in Christ will boast in Christ alone. They will speak of their faith in Christ's sacrifice for them.
What about you? Is it Do, or Done? Are you trusting in your works, or in Christ's sacrificial work for you?
Today, you can be saved and receive in eternal life through prayer.

Today, you can be saved and receive in eternal life through prayer.
- Begin by admitting to God your sinfulness, and your inability to save yourself. Admit that you can never be good enough to deserve heaven. Admit that if you get what you deserve, it will be eternity in hell.
- Then acknowledge your faith in Jesus Christ. That He died for your sins and rose again. That He is God's payment for your sins.
- Make a commitment to repent of all known sin, and ask for God's forgiveness.
- Invite Christ into your life to save you, and to be Your Savior and King.
