G.O.S.P.E.L. -- The Best News Ever

If there is anything we need right now, it is good news.  The best news in the world is the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is the cure to our biggest problem -- sin.  The very word "gospel" means good news.

What is the gospel?  Here is an acronym to help you remember the truths of the gospel.

God -- God loves you and created you for a relationship with Him.  (John 3:16)

Offense -- You have sinned and offended almighty God.  (Romans 3:23)

Suffering - The punishment for sin is hell, the place of eternal torment.  (Romans 6:23)

Propitiation -- Jesus Christ came to earth and died in your place, for your sins, satisfying the wrath of God that was set against you.  (1 John 2:2)

Eternal Life -- Eternal life is available to all who repent and believe in Jesus Christ.  (John 3:16)

Love -- Life as a Christian is all about learning to love God and others more and more.  (Mark 12:29-31)

This is the gospel; the good news of Jesus Christ.

To be saved from your sins and inherit eternal life, these are the truths that you must know and believe.

To lead your family and friends to Christ, this is the message you must share with them.

Are you saved?  Have you been born again?  If you died today, are you sure you would go to heaven?  If not, then you can be saved today.  Admit that you are a sinner.  Believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ.  And call on Jesus to save you.

Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek."
