Greek Word Study | 144: discernment (aisthesis)

Aisthesis is only found in Phil 1:9.  It comes from aisthanomai (143).

The AMP translates it as practical insight (Phil 1:9).  The NIV, depth of insight (Phil 1:9).  Phillips translates it as wise insight (Phil 1:9).

Mounce's Dictionary says it means knowledge or understanding.
